So I was watching The Colbert Report with buggery, as we are sometimes wont to do together, and he had an interesting guest on -- Richard Thompson Ford, who has written a book called The Race Card: How Bluffing About Bias Makes Race Relations Worse.

Now, first and foremost -- I haven't read the book, and Colbert's er -- interviewing style doesn't always let the guest get to the meat of their arguments, but I have to admit -- as soon as I heard the title of the book, I cringed.

And I cringed even more when I saw that Ford was a Black man.
