It's 250,000+ words, because apparently I have issues. It's a love story! It's really creepy! It's a high school AU! I'm SO SORRY! Anyway, have a snippet: ( and the winner is... )Oh, yes, and it has *two* endings.

Current Music: Velvet Underground: "Pale Blue Eyes"
The old earth spins by Te August 1, 2008 Disclaimers: No one and nothing here is mine. Spoilers/Timeline: AU-ized references to older storylines. Meant to take place not long before Tim's fifteenth birthday. Summary: Tim pwns, Jason copes, and Bruce has a very good day. Ratings Note/Warnings: Sexual content which does and does not dovetail neatly with the content some readers may find to be disturbing. Author's Note: Third in The Young and the Battish series, starting a few weeks after the end of "A wondrous mirror." Will *not* make sense without the others. Acknowledgments: To Pixie, Mildred, and Jack for audiencing, encouragement, hand-holding, and tireless efforts to make me keep writing in a language comprehensible to more than just the voices in my head. Story goes *here*.

Um... hi? Much love to everyone who sent birthday wishes -- I had an absolutely fabulous day, what with the hot sex, the sushi, and the new action figures. (Would any of *you* like a toon!Timmy with a uniform which strongly suggests that he's *Nightwing's* Robin? Because there are a few available...) In any event, I've now got three ginormous WIPs I'm working on, and they're kind of taking *all* of my time, but, well -- Snippet! Knows how to choose them by Te July 25, 2008 Disclaimers: No one and nothing here is mine. Spoilers/Timeline: Vague references to older storylines. Takes place several months after the events of NIGHTWING: YEAR ONE. Summary: They both get lonely. Ratings Note/Warnings: Sexual content. Author's Note: Jack wanted Dick in thigh-high stockings. How could I ever say no to that? Acknowledgments: To Mildred for audiencing and encouragement, and to Jack for that awful, wonderful title. ( I'm sure that I'll eventually get over men in drag, but it really hasn't happened yet. )

I fail, but I try to do it entertainingly. @ 05:47 pm
Instead of editing the sequel to A wondrous mirror, I started writing another story, and there's a third story kind of nibbling at my brain, and -- Yes, well. Have a couple of snippets. ( That sequel ) ( That *other* story. )And then there's that other *other* story, but I don't want to jinx it until I start writing the thing. And then there are a couple of snippets which I'll hopefully be able to post soonish. *flails around* Posting is *hard*. *love to all*

A wondrous mirror by Te May 20, 2008 Disclaimers: No one and nothing here is mine. Spoilers/Timeline: References to older storylines. Veers AU after The Killing Joke. Summary: Tim moves, Jason loves, Bruce fails, and excellent cocoa is consumed. Ratings Note/Warnings: Sexual content which doesn't really have anything at all to do with the content some readers may find to be disturbing. Additionally, this is probably one of the most sugary things I've written in my life. If tooth decay is a worry for you, you just might want to give this a pass. Author's Note: AU-ish sequel to "All the things of the world." I played around with the timeline, a little. This one still won't make much sense without the other. Acknowledgments: Much love to Pixie, Mildred, and Jack, all of whom helped to make this much better than it would've been. Story goes *here*.

And I've been working on a story for the past few weeks. It is, of course, not one of the stories that I'd mentioned working on *before*, but, well. It's a story. And it's done. And it's about 86,000 words. ... yeah, I don't know , either. If you're interested, it's a slightly AU sequel to All the things of the world, which some of you may remember as the story in which I decided Tim should be... um. Batgirl. ... yeah. Anyway, I'm working on editing it now, and pondering a sequel, and various other things, too. The point is that I'm alive, and aware that I owe a lot of you comments and replies. I'll get there.

Just a little list, in no particular order, to remind me that life is pretty awesome, all things considered. 1. New ergonomic keyboard -- and it was *cheap*. 2. Small, moderately insane cat -- right over there. 3. Cheese, in all of its wonderful forms. 4. Frighteningly adorable nephews. 5. Dreams about Jeeves and Wooster, complete with madcap hijinks. 6. 'Little brother.' 7. Functional genitalia. 8. A Jack to share functional genitalia with. 9. Functional genitalia. 10. Mario Batali. 11. Useful psych drugs. 12. Law and Order. Mmm, formulaic. 13. Sushi. 14. Clean, soft towels. 15. Songbirds. 16. Warmer weather. 17. Boobs. 18. Stephen Colbert. 19. Books. 20. Orange juice. And now I'm going to oppress the cat with my strange primate affection rituals.

... and the other's gold by Te April 19, 2008 Disclaimers: No one and nothing here is mine. Spoilers/Timeline: Vague references to various older storylines, meant to take place sometime before "War Games." Summary: Clark spends a little time with his friends. Ratings Note/Warnings: Sexual content which does and does not dovetail with the content some readers may find to be disturbing. Author's Note: When Petra visits, random plot bunnies often appear. This is a direct result of a past visit. The fact that it's also something of an 'answer' to One is silver is just one of those things -- and no, you don't have to read that one first. Acknowledgments: Petra, Pixie, Katarik, Mildred, and Jack have all seen various bits and pieces of this, and have all had a hand in making it better. All must hail. Story goes *here*.

Sometimes, games are made of awesome. @ 10:41 pm
Current Mood: pleased
So, I felt the need to take a break from life and do some gaming today, and I happened to remember that I hadn't played one of my favorite games in a while. Tradewinds: Legends is a game about life in a mythical Far East in which you trade for items like salt, tea, indigo, and parchment (and other stuff, too), solve tasks given to you by various city rulers, and fight off pirates with increasingly powerful ships. Already sounds neat, right? Well, it gets better. There are four characters you can play as, and each of them has their own story/quest and different tasks to solve. One of the characters? Just happens to be a gay man named Hassan Tazere. Okay, so they never flat out *say* he's gay, but his quest is to search for his 'beloved shield-brother' Omar, a character who refers to him as 'amesri' -- that means 'lover' -- and there are all sorts of little winks and nudges and friendly, warm-hearted jokes to make sure you *know* that you're playing as a gay man. A *fabulous* gay man. Who's really pretty damned hot. BUT IT GETS BETTER. Once you defeat the game as one of the four primary characters, you get to make up your *own* character -- there's a whole separate quest for made-up characters, btw -- and, among many other choices for your character's look, you can be a FAT BLACK WOMAN. One who is NOT MOCKED FOR HER LOOKS, EVEN. I think you can see why this is one of my favorite games, and why I keep coming back to it. I really don't understand why there aren't more games like this, but I'm sure glad there's one. As an aside, I play as a member of Shockwave Unlimited, which has hundreds of flash games of various types (they're always getting new ones). You can play all of them for one pretty reasonable membership fee. I've been a member for about two years now, and have found it to be entirely worth the cost.

Ganked from Lucy on lj: The thing is, when people look for stories, they always make it sound like badfic. Now, often that's because it really is badfic, but sometimes it's good and they just suck at describing the story.
So, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to summarize badly any one (or more!) of my stories and I'll try to guess which it is. You could even pretend you don't remember the pairing or fandom to make it harder to guess. Play with me! Though I think I'll probably fail pretty often for older stuff. *ha*
